Character Reference

The next morning we packed up and headed to the neighboring island of Macau for a little day trip, and then from there we caught our flight to Thailand. I can honestly say that Macau is the weirdest place I have ever been. When you first arrive, it's like you are in Vegas. There are the same casinos, the same hotels, water shows and everything. Then as you walk further into the city center, BAM, you're in a little Portuguese town. So. Strange. Seriously, I still can't wrap my head around it. A few hours (take or minus the few more we spent trying to figure out where the heck we were--never before then had I wished I spoke Portuguese) was all we needed.

This right here explains our morning.

We suffered from a fair bit of "culture confusion." It's a thing.

Really? A cathedral on a hill?

Bride Wars

I've been home for a few days now, and it's been great. I got to spend a day or two with my parents before they left us for a few weeks, I've eaten good food, I've almost adjusted to the time change (it's never been this hard for me before), I've watched a good amount of TV, and I've got to spend some quality time with friends.

But I won't lie, I kind of miss the thrill of being gone. I am so glad that I was able to meet up with Emily and Amy to do a little tour of South East Asia. Our first stop: Hong Kong
